Prof Dr. Stefan Legge

Dr Legge is the Vice Director of the ILE-HSG Institute and a Lecturer in Economics at the University of St. Gallen. He also serves as a Fellow at the World Economic Forum. His research focuses on international trade, macroeconomics, and business economics.

At the University of St. Gallen, Dr Legge teaches economics to students across undergraduate, graduate, MBA, and Executive MBA programs. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mannheim and a master’s and doctoral degree in economics from the University of St. Gallen. During his graduate studies, he undertook research visits at the University of California, San Diego, the University of California, Berkeley, and Princeton University.

Dr Legge professional experience includes internships at BMW in Munich and roles as a research assistant and project leader at the SEW and SIAW-HSG Institutes in St. Gallen. His research has been published in leading economics journals, earning him several national and international awards. Dr Legge is also a frequent commentator on current events for major media outlets.
