Professor Erwin Hettich is Head of the Strategy Lab and an Assistant Professor of Strategy and Management at the Institute of Business Administration (IfB-HSG) at the University of St. Gallen. He studied International Business Administration, specializing in strategy and international management, at the University of Tuebingen, San Francisco State University, and the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. In 2015, he earned his doctorate from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and the Harvard Business School (HBS).
With more than ten years of industry experience in leadership roles across the construction, banking, consulting, insurance, and automotive sectors, Professor Hettich has authored multiple award-winning case studies. His research explores cross-organizational value creation, the impact of technology on strategy, and emerging business models. As Head of the Strategy Lab at the University of St. Gallen, he has advised publicly listed corporations, private enterprises, and startups, serving as a strategy consultant and board member for organizations such as Accilium, ABB AG, Altana AG, and AML AG.
