Prof. Dr. Martina Montauti

Martina Montauti is an Assistant Professor of Strategic and International Management at the University of St. Gallen. Grounded in strategy and organization theory, her research explores how the cognitive and social aspects of categorization decisions influence firm—and market-level outcomes, including competition, market entry, and performance returns.

She earned her PhD in Economics, specializing in Management, from Università della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Switzerland. During her doctoral studies, she was a visiting researcher at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, USA. Before joining the University of St. Gallen, Professor Montauti served as a faculty member at IE Business School in Madrid, Spain, where she developed extensive experience in both research and teaching.
