Dr. Bohnsack is a Professor of Strategy and Innovation and a renowned expert in business model innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable innovation. His research has been published in leading international management and innovation journals, including Research Policy, Journal of Business Venturing, and Journal of International Business Studies. René has received multiple accolades for his work, such as the Best Paper Award from the Academy of Management ONE Division in 2019, the Sustainable Entrepreneurship Award in 2016, and third prize for the Best Innovation Management Paper in 2013.
He serves as the Academic Director of the Lisbon MBA and leads two innovative labs at Católica-Lisbon: the Business Model Design Lab, which focuses on advanced business model innovation, and the Smart City Innovation Lab, which explores well-being in urban areas through sustainable technologies and digital transformation.
Beyond his academic achievements, René is a passionate entrepreneur who has founded several successful ventures, including SCOOCS.co, a virtual events platform; fitbase.de, an e-health company; and venturely.io, a business modelling platform.
