Prof. Dr. Winfried Ruigrok is a Professor of International Management and former Director of the Research Institute for International Management (FIM-HSG). From 2011 to 2024, he served as Dean of the Executive School of Management, Technology, and Law at the University of St. Gallen.
His research focuses on international restructuring strategies and their performance implications, the internationalization of top management teams and boards, multicultural management, and corporate governance. His work has been published in leading academic and professional outlets, including the Strategic Management Journal, Organizational Research Methods, Journal of Management Studies, Management International Review, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Zeitschrift für betriebswirtschaftliche Forschung, as well as popular media such as the Financial Times, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
He has collaborated with numerous international companies and organizations, including Deutsche Post, Ernst & Young, the European Commission, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Gore, Henkel, Hilti, Karstadt Quelle, Lonza, Nissan, Otto Versand, PricewaterhouseCoopers, RWE, and the Canton of St. Gallen.
